OREANDA-NEWS. February 21, 2008.The first group of Stroytransgaz employees has undergone an industrial-corporate training program at the Ekopromsistemy institute of industrial management. The course was conducted from February 11 through 15, 2008. Its title – “Managing Environmental Protection in the Construction Organization.”

The program, organized jointly with Stroytransgaz, was specially designed for engineers (managers) who have responsibility for environmental and ecological issues within company branches and groups that manage construction projects. Stroytransgaz’s Personnel Office and Office for Health, Safety and the Environment contributed to the training’s design. The program was created in accordance with a directive from company President Victor Lorents issued on September 26, 2007.

Instructors from Ekopromsistemy – a non-commercial educational institute for industrial management – as well as specialists and staff from the Office for Health, Safety and the Environment, Department of Engineering Technology Support, Stroytransgaz, conducted the training.

The course includes such themes as environmental legislation, ISO 14001:2004 standards for environmental management, their specific application within Stroytransgaz, corporate requirements, and environmental problems that arise during construction of linear and territorial objects.

The course optimally combines general learning with specialized industrial training oriented toward particular features of a concrete organization. All specialists-environmentalists working at Stroytransgaz objects will be required to go through the training. That will increase the competency of specialists working in the field and, in turn, raise the environmental safety of the work Stroytransgaz carries out.
