OREANDA-NEWS. June 20, 2008. A grand unveiling of a monument to the garmon or button accordion, a Russian folk instrument, was held in Ivanovo on May 12, 2008. The musical instrument symbolizes the past generations’ spirit and their courage in battle. Bank Electronika was general sponsor of the project, which the city administration organized.

The monument’s unveiling was timed to coincide with the tenth anniversary of the music festival Play, Garmon! The garmon accompanied Russia’s countrymen throughout the entire Great Patriotic War (World War II), encouraging and uniting people in difficult moments. Esteeming the valor and spirit of unanimity that characterize its countrymen – and desiring to inculcate respect for those qualities in younger generations – Bank Electronika enthusiastically takes part in implementing such projects.

Bank Electronika is broadening its presence in the financial services market in Russia’s regions as part of its retail strategy. Personal services offices are being opened in cities with populations exceeding 200,000. Nine offices in eight regions of the country have already begun work and openings are planned in 90 other large Russian cities in the near future.

The Bank orients its work with individual clients towards those for whom competent, accessible banking services of broad spectrum are particularly needed: people with average earnings – incomes of 2,500 rubles to 18,000 rubles per family member. Clients may draw credit, open current accounts, or make term deposits at offices of Bank Electronika. Personal services offices are presently offering clients a summer deposit program titled All in the Family! These special deposits may be made in rubles for various terms and at advantageous interest rates. For the convenience of clients, the offices work on a six-day-a-week schedule and each office has a children’s play zone.

Bank Electronika has set itself the task of increasing the populace’s competency in financial matters as well as supporting initiatives to protect the cultural funds of the cities in which it has chosen to work. The Bank has joined regional and city authorities to support the reconstruction of architectural monuments and objects of cultural heritage. As part of its sponsorship and philanthropic activities, the Bank helps regional public organizations, professional associations and citizens who are the most socially unprotected.
