OREANDA-NEWS. August 13, 2008. The Nizhny Tagil-based company Uralvagonzavod has assembled the first 45-tonne BelAZ truck.

The agreement on setting up the joint production facility to produce trucks in the Ural region of Russia was reached during the talks between Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko andSverdlovsk oblast Governor Eduard Rossel in Minsk in early 2008.

Uralvagonzavod will produce BelAZ trucks jointly with other companies of the region – Uralmash, Uralkhimmash,Ural Turbine Motors Making Plant and others.

By the end of the year, the Ural company intends to produce 40 BelAZ trucks. Uralvagonzavod is expected to produce other models of dump trucks, in particular, 130-tonne BelAZ truck.
