As the Official Partner of the Forum, the International Bank of Azerbaijan participated at the Second Annual Meeting of New Champions 2008 initiated by the World Economic Forum, which took place in Tyanjing, one of the largest industrial centers and one of three largest cities of China, reported the press-centre of IBA.

It should be noted that that in 2007 IBA became one of the co-founders and the Partner of the Community of Global Emerging Companies, while Dzhahangir Gadzhiyev, the Chairman of the Board of IBA, was elected as the member of Council of the Community.

As the Partner of the Forum, IBA gained the right to invite to the Forum's first meeting a business delegation consisting of the chief executives of the largest domestic companies from the different branches of economy including the information technologies and insurance.

This forum, which was held under the slogan of “New Wave of Development”, was intended to assist the leaders of the world business community in finding the optimal course of the world's development and the global growth under the conditions of world economic crisis.

More than 1400 representatives of commercial, government and public organizations from 19 countries from all over the world took part at the forum. Among the curators of various seminars at the Forum were William Rods, the Vice-Chairman of Citigroup, Peter Becker, the head of TNT group of international carriage companies, Thomas Enders, the head of Airbus Group, James Thorley, the Chairman of Ernst & Young, and etc.

The delegation of IBA was also invited to the meeting with Mr. Ven Jibao, the Prime Minister of the People's Republic of China.

After the end of the Forum, Claus Schwab, the Founder and the Managing Chairman of the World Economic Forum, received the delegation of IBA headed by Emil Mustafayev, the Senior Deputy Chairman of the Board of the Bank, and Vagif Akbarov and Rovshan Kerimov, the Deputy Chairmans of the Board, and expressed his thanks to IBA for its participation as the Partner of the Community.
