OREANDA-NEWS. December 8, 2008. Market Media Public company, M2M Telematica Regional Dispatch Center in Vologda, initiated, developed and now implements the project which is aimed at equipping the scholar buses in Vologodskaya region with the satellite monitoring system and bi-directional communication with the drivers. The project is carried out in order to enhance monitoring of the scholar buses and to improve transportation security for the students.

According to Petr Shablovsky, Market Media Commercial Director, initially the Department of Education in the Vologodskaya region planned to purchase mobile telephones for the drivers and principals of the village schools. “We offered a technologically advanced option: to use the BN-City® satellite transport monitoring and control system", explains Mr. Shablovsky.

BN-City® is a satellite (GLONASS/GPS/GPRS) monitoring and transport control system which provides the opportunity to monitor position and speed of each bus: the route and other necessary parameters are displayed in the dispatcher`s monitor. Permanent monitoring of the transport vehicle makes the driver obey the traffic rules more attentively, including speed limits. In addition, each bus will have an “emergency button” which can be used for signaling to a dispatcher in case of a contingency. The system also saves user`s funding. A few months ago, M2M Telematica successfully introduced a similar system in Kaluzhskaya region.
