On 28 January 2009 was announced, that Belarus’ ZAO Holding Company Pinskdrev increased exports 16.7% on the year in 2008 to USD 94 million, of them exports to the CIS reached USD 71.6 million, a rise of 38.2%, and USD 22.5 million of exports beyond the CIS, down 21.9%, a representative in the company told. The decrease is due to plans to redirect exports to Russia.

Exports to Russia rose 60% to USD 46.3 million, to Kazakhstan edged down 1% to USD 9.3 million, to Germany fell 27% to USD 7.2 million, and to Poland rose 18.2% to USD 5.2 million. Exports were to 31 countries in 2008.

Furniture exports amounted to USD 58 million, up 36.2% on the year.

Pinskdrev’s output amounted to 397.3 billion Belarusian rubles (Br) in 2008. Furniture output amounted to 230.1 billion Belarusian rubles, up 38%.

Imports amounted to USD 51.5 million in the period, up 40.7%.

Pinskdrev was founded in 1880. The company incorporates 33 productions of upholstered furniture, chipboard, plywood, crossband veneer, timber mill and match-producing factory.

ZAO Pinskdrev’s exports increased 28% on the year in 2007 to USD 80.6 million. Pinskdrev’s exports to the CIS rose 33% to USD 51.8 million, and supplies to countries beyond the CIS went up 21% to USD 28.8 million. Furniture accounted for 52.9% of all exports. Pinskdrev’s furniture made up 19.7% of all Belarus’ furniture exports.
