OREANDA-NEWS. May 19, 2009. Growth of swap deals turnover in e-trading system BEST of the Baku Interbank Currency Exchange (BBVB) continues.

BBVB informs that today’s turnover on such deals made USD 9 million. The volume of the 7-day deals is USD4 million. At the same time exchange rate grew from AZN 0.8042 up to 0.8043 to the US dollar. As for 30-day deals the turnover on them made USD5 million and the rate rose from AZN 0.8057 up to AZN 0.806 to the US dollar.

BEST turnover for SWAP_USD/AZN in May has reached USD32.2 million and the deals for USD17 million were concluded for 7 days. In April it was USD67.4 million, including 30-day deals for USD53.4 million.

For March it was USD69.4 million. Overall turnover for SWAP_USD/AZN for March made USD91.4 million. Due to the 7-day deal registered on 13 March the SWAP_USD/AZN turnover reached USD22 million with the exchange rate equaling AZN 0.8051 to the US dollar.

Taking into account February’s turnover (USD57.4 million), March’s turnover (USD91.4 million) and April’s one (USD67.4 million) in 2009 SWAP turnover came to USD248.4 million while a record deal for SWAP operations at BBVB was concluded on 11 March (USD32 million with rate of AZN 0.8064 to the US dollar).

The first 30-day SWAP_USD/AZN deal (volume: USUSD30 million; rate: AZN 0.8093 to the US dollar) was registered on 10 February, the second one (volume: USD2 million; rate: AZN 0.8086 to the US dollar) on 11 February, the third one on 25 February.
