OREANDA-NEWS. On 28 May 2009 was announced, that Belgian ENEX and French Schneider Electric companies presented a project on upgrading the energy supply system of the Turkmen capital developed jointly with EADS and Schreder companies. The project has been developed on the instructions of Turkmen President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov.

On the same day, the president of Turkmenistan received director-general of Belgian Enex Process Engineering company Koen Minne, and chairman of the board of directors of Schneider Electric SA company Henri Lachmann.

The head of ENEX reported on the progress made so far and the pace of implementation of projects awarded to the company. Koen Minne, who is Turkmenistan's Honorary Consul to the Kingdom of Belgium, also briefed the president of Turkmenistan on the outcome of a series of meetings in Brussels.

During the meeting with the Turkmen leader Henri Lachmann noted that "the rapidly growing Ashgabat surely needs a reliable and uninterrupted energy supply" and said that his company can provide its services to Turkmenistan in this important area.
