OREANDA-NEWS. February 15, 2010. In 2009 the group of companies “Sea Port of Saint-Petersburg” transferred over 2.1 bln. rubles for the implementation of port infrastructure development programme, which is twice more than in 2008.

500 mln. Rubles were transferred for the final stage of construction and purchase of the equipment for ro-ro terminal with the annual capacity of 1 mln. tons. This terminal was put into operation in April of 2009 on the territory of the First Stevedoring Company.

Over 16 mln. Rubles were transferred for designing of universal warehouse with the total area of 12.7 thousand square meters on the territory of ro-ro terminal. System with inner movable partition-walls will make it possible to change the size of the inner premises depending on the size of the cargoes and the required temperature.

Over 1.5 bln. Rubles were transferred for the construction of the first stage of container terminal with the annual capacity of 350 thousand TEUs on the territory of Fourth Stevedoring Company and for the purchase of equipment. This terminal is to be put into operation in the 2 quarter of 2010 and will handle all types of import and export container cargoes, including reefer containers.

Over 10 mln. Rubles were transferred for development of pre-design documents and for environmental survey of the site to be used for construction of the refrigerated terminal (the first and the second cargo areas). Terminal with the annual design capacity of 1.5 mln will give the opportunity to decrease the costs of major importers of the food products in Saint-Petersburg and in the North-western part of Russia. New reefer capacities will maintain certain temperatures inside (-28C-+14C) which will ensure the quality level of the food products and their compliance with the European standards.

The group of the companies invested 60 mln. rubles into the reconstruction of the warehouses and open storage grounds for general cargoes on the first and second cargo areas of the port.

33 mln. Rubles were transferred for the modernization of the transport infrastructure of the port. In particular, pre-design works for the reconstruction of the checkpoints: “Gapsalskiye gates” and on Dvinskaya street have been completed and the project concepts have been approved.

The group of companies “Sea Port of Saint-Petersburg” as the part of Universal Cargo Logistics Holding implements the large-scale development programme, which envisages modernization and technical upgrading of the main production assets. And the volume of investments into this programme is continuously growing.
