OREANDA-NEWS. March 16, 2010. Russia’s leading large-diameter pipe manufacturer, Vyksa Metallurgical Plant (RTS: VSMZ) is continuing with the construction of a new plate-iron mill, Metal Courier reported March 16. In accordance with the initial plan, the new mill, capable of producing 1.2 million tons of plate iron a year, is to be launched in 2011. Products made at the new mill are to be used mainly for the needs of Vyksa plant’s own LDP shop.

The construction work is on schedule: the company is presently finishing the assembly of the building frame and is about to start laying the foundation for the mill equipment. The assembly of basic machinery is to be launched in as early as 2H2010.
