OREANDA-NEWS. July 13, 2010. Moscow Domodedovo Airport recorded growth of physical indicators in May 2010. May 2010 saw 17 589 flights served in Domodedovo which is an increase by 20,5% in comparison with the same period of the previous year.

Moscow Domodedovo Airport passenger traffic volumes totaled 1 821 538 based on results of May 2010 which is 19,8% more compared to the same month previous year.

Cargo traffic in Domodedovo demonstrated growth by 29,5% compared to the same month of the last year rates and reached 12 384 tons.

Domestic passenger traffic growth was recorded and totaled 675 351 which is an increase by 20,7% compared to the same period in 2009.

International passenger traffic in May 2010 increased by 19,3% compared to the same month last year and totaled 1 146 187 passengers.

Following the results of five months 2010 total passenger traffic reached 7 653 275 which is 29,4% more compared to January-May period of the last year.

Domestic passenger traffic in January-May 2010 saw 3 005 180 travelers (an increase of 31,0% compared the same period last year). Based on January-May results the highest growth rates of passenger traffic volumes were recorded on the following destinations: Saint Petersburg, Ufa, Orenburg, Yekaterinburg. Passenger traffic volumes operated along these routes totaled 701 200 travelers which is an increase by 66% versus the same period in 2009.

International passenger traffic in January-May 2010 totaled 4 648 095 demonstrating an increase by 28,4% compared to the same period last year. The highest growth rates were recorded on the following destinations: Hurgada, Sharm el Sheikh, Bangkok, Phuket, Dubai. Passenger traffic along these routes saw a growth of 1 301 700 which is an increase by 71% compared to 2009.

The number of flights served for the five months of 2010 totaled 76 844 demonstrating an increase by 19,6% compared to the same period in 2009.

Based on results of January-May 2010 the volume of cargo traffic totaled 56 446 tons which is an increase by 30,1 % compared to the same period of the previous year.
