OREANDA-NEWS. September 17, 2010. Rosmorport has developed and presented at the IX International Investment Forum "Sochi-2010" the project of the northeast cargo area of Commercial Sea Port Kavkaz in Temryuk Region of Krasnodar Territory, the Rosmorport press service said.

The terminal will include two Ro-Ro berths. The total terminal area - 24,7 hectares. The projected capacity of the terminal – up to 5,000 tons a year. The project is expected to be completed in 2010-2012. The project design will be accomplished in Q3, 2010.

The volume of investments from the federal budget is estimated at 3 billion rubles. Rosmorport plans to enter into long-term lease contracts of up to 49 years with operators and potential investors, both Russian and Turkish transport businesses, who would be interested in the project.

According to Rosmorport, in 2009 the total transshipment volume of Ro-Ro cargoes at the Black Sea ports amounted to about 4,500,00 tons, and to 2,455,000 tons at the Russian ports. Most of the operators and services on the market of Ro-Ro shipments in the region are focused on Turkish-Russian trade. Russia's share in the structure of Turkey’s seaborne cargo shipments reaches 63%, Ukraine’s share - 20%.
