OREANDA-NEWS. September 23, 2010.The German delegation led Klaus-Jurgen Hedrich, Chairman of the Turkmen-German Forum is on a visit to the Turkmen capital in these days.

The German guests were received at the national Parliament, where they discussed the ways to strengthen inter-parliamentary contacts between the Mejlis of Turkmenistan and the Bundestag of the Federal Republic of Germany.

Exchanging views on the priority fields of cooperation, the delegation of the friendly country was briefed on the ongoing activity of the Turkmen Parliament aimed at implementing large-scale reforms initiated by President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov.

Underlining the fruitfulness of traditional Turkmen-German cooperation proved by effective mutually beneficial contacts at various levels, including at the level of the Parliaments of the two friendly countries, the sides called for expanding further mutually beneficial, long-term partnership in a wide range of fields including the fuel and energy, trade and economic, tourism and humanitarian sectors.

In this context the German guests focused on the profound potential of the Turkmen market conditioned by the favourable geopolitical location and the open door policy pursued by the President of Turkmenistan that promoted foreign investments in the resource and recreation potential of the Turkmen state.

During the visit to Turkmenistan the German delegation was received at the ministries and departments where they continued the lively discussion of the ways to foster constructive Turkmen-Germany cooperation in the particular sectors.
