OREANDA-NEWS. September 9, 2011. In September Hostex, one of the largest data centre companies in Lithuania, offered the country's companies the opportunities for considerable cost savings through the use of business management, financial accounting, customer relations management (CRM) and other software. It will be possible to do this by migrating the systems to the cloud computing technology-based data centers.

The possibilities for companies to dispense with all their office-located servers and to migrate their information systems to the data center became available after Hostex applied the vSphere technology, developed by VMware, the global leader in virtual infrastructure solutions, in its data center. The technology allows to form an own virtual server in the data center where data is stored separately from other customers' data and to use on it any business software running in either Windows or Linux environments.

Duplicated and high-speed Internet connection with Hostex data centers enables using the systems located there at the same speed as if they were running on an office-located server.

According to Pranas Sluљnys, Director of Hostex, it has been for several years already that large companies in Lithuania are used to storing their critically important information and systems in specialized data centers. "We will provide the opportunity also for small companies to use these technologies - they will be able to save considerably, for example, on accounting software costs", - P. Sluљnys said.
According to the estimates made by Hostex specialists, the migration of business management or other software to a data center would in the first year save more than half of the system costs.

The cloud computing solutions applied by Hostex enable the rapid changing of service scopes - reducing or increasing required resources, which allows customers to pay only for the actually used data center resources.

Hostex has also entered into cooperation with Lithuanian software development companies, which will adapt their products to the cloud computing technologies.
