OREANDA-NEWS. August 9, 2012. Ukraine’s Obolon brewing company is currently negotiating the prospects of purchasing Belarusian JSC  Brestskoye Pivo, Belarus’ Ambassador to Ukraine Valentin Velichko told reporters Tuesday.

The deal would be possible, if the investor agreed to settle a few technological matters, abstain from staff reductions and take a firm decision on the Belarusian brewery’s long-term production profile, the ambassador said.

Belarus’ JSC  Brestskoye Pivo has brewing beer on a licence from Ukraine’s Obolon since April 2010.

Established in 1967, JSC  Brestskoye Pivo produces beer, soft beverages and low-alcohol drinks, wine and mineral water. The company turned out Br75.037 billion worth of products (USD 9 million) in January-June 2012 to compare with Br42.839 billion in January-June 2011. JSC  Brestskoye Pivo produced 1.354 million decaliters of beer in H1, 2012, down 20.3% on the year.
