OREANDA-NEWS. September 11, 2012. The issues of energy efficiency and competitiveness of the Ukrainian economy were raised on the forum

Piraeus Bank became the sponsor of the Ukrainian National Committee of the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC Ukraine) forum "Innovation, efficiency and competitiveness", held on September 7th in Kyiv. The ICC’s President Gerard Worms came to Ukraine to take part in the forum.

The ICC forum raised the issues of improving the competitiveness of the Ukrainian economy and increasing its investment attractiveness. The participants also discussed the tax system reform in order to stimulate key industries and the role of banking sector in the economic development. In addition, the participants discussed the ICC Roadmap and the implementation program of "green economy" in Ukraine, as well as number of successfully implemented innovative projects related to alternative energy and energy efficiency during the "Green Economy" thematic section of the forum.

On the occasion of the Ukrainian Entrepreneur’s Day awards were presented on the forum. The International Certificate of the affiliate reliability was awarded to Piraeus Bank. "International Certificate of the affiliate reliability is given to companies whose financial and economic performances, reputation and reliability enables the ICC Ukraine to recommend them as a dependable partner to conduct national and international business", - the ICC Ukraine President Volodymyr Shchelkunov noted.

Piraeus Bank has the highest rating of deposits reliability provided by “Credit-Rating” Agency (grade “5”; last update took place on 21.06.2012), that shows the bank's capacity to make payments on existing deposits timely and in full.

The Bank has "uaA" long-term credit rating with the forecast “stable” provided by “Credit-Rating” (updated on 21.06.2012). This long-term rating belongs to the group of investment ratings that is one of the highest ratings given to banks operating on the Ukrainian market.

The Bank is a member of Association of Ukrainian Banks, Forum of Leading International Financial institutions (FLIFI), Fund of Guaranteeing the Deposits of Individuals. The Bank is also included in the list of banks authorized by the Pension Fund of Ukraine to make payments of pensions and financial assistance.
