OREANDA-NEWS. January 25, 2013. Power Machines OJSC has successfully completed turnkey modernization of three power generating units at Bitola TPP in Macedonia.

A contract for manufacturing and supply of power equipment for modernization of three 225 MW power generating units of the plant has been signed with the Macedonian company ELEM (Macedonian Power Plants JSC). In accordance with the contract conditions, Power Machines have manufactured and supplied equipment for modernization of three steam turbines and three turbogenerators. The scope of the contract also included installation, commissioning and start-up works.

The first and second power generating units of Bitola TPP modernized by Power Machines were commissioned in December 2010 and October 2011 respectively.

The modernization improved the safety and stability, ensured prolonged service life, and increased the capacity of each set by more than 8 MW. The warranty period for the equipment supplied is three years from the beginning of its operation.

In 1978-1984, the turbines and generators for Bitola TPP were manufactured at the production facilities of Power Machines. Years of flawless operation have won trust for the products of the Russian company; and the Macedonian party is really interested in modernizing Bitola TPP in collaboration with Power Machines. Power Machines already did some modernization works for three generating sets in 1994; as a result, the rated capacity was increased from 210 MW to 225 MW.
