OREANDA-NEWS.  July 01, 2013. It is planned to allocate UAH 28 bln for rearmament of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Minister of Defence Pavlo Lebedev announced at a briefing commenting the aspects of the State program on reforming and development of the Armed Forces of Ukraine for 2013-2017.

“On May 29 the Government endorsed the State complex program on reforming and development of the Armed Forces of Ukraine up to 2017. Now it is being considered by the Secretariat of the Council of National Security and Defence of Ukraine. The target of this program, first of all, is reforming of the Armed Forces of Ukraine so that to create a battleworthy, combat-capable army,” Pavlo Lebedev emphasized.

He stressed according to the State program main resources would be directed to battle training of servicepersons. Besides, during five years around UAH 28 bln will be directed to rearmament of Ukrainian army, modernization, repair and purchase of new armament for aviation, fleet and ground forces.

The Defence Minister stressed that within nearest time the State complex program on reforming and development of the Armed Forces of Ukraine up to 2017had to be approved at a session of the Council of National Security and Defence of Ukraine.
