OREANDA-NEWS. Sergey Kogogin, Director General of OJSC KAMAZ, and Sergey Khramagin, Director General of OJSC State transport leasing company, discussed issues of their mutually beneficial cooperation at KAMAZ.

The parties discussed methods of sales and promotion of the new KAMAZ-5490 (M1842) long-haul tractor in the market, and also their further cooperation in the NGV sphere. These negotiations continued a dialogue between KAMAZ and STLC which had signed agreements this summer. It should be recalled that, on the 24th of August, both companies signed a cooperation agreement on expansion of the domestic fleet of vehicles running on gas. It was decided that KAMAZ and STLC experts would jointly develop and implement mechanisms to promote natural gas vehicles.

In the course of the meeting, Sergey Kogogin noted the significance of the companies’ cooperation aimed at a wider use of gas-powered vehicles. “State transport leasing company is our important strategic partner. KAMAZ and STLC have mutually beneficial projects, including very promising NGV projects,” Director General of OJSC KAMAZ emphasized. “Past experience shows that such cooperation enables a large business to accumulate its efforts and solidify its positions in the market. It is of great importance both to the Russian industry and to the national transportation system on the whole.”

“This year, STLC has started a leasing program focused on investing in gas-powered vehicles,” Sergey Khramagin said in his turn. “KAMAZ and our company hope that NGVs will improve the environment in the country and become an efficient alternative to habitual motor transport. Thus, STLC will deliver 50 gas-engine NEFAZ buses to Tula Oblast in March 2014. We plan to popularize our practices in other Russian regions too.”
