OREANDA-NEWS. As part of its Airport Service Quality (ASQ) awards, the leading international confederation of airport operators Airports Council International (ACI) has evaluated the results of passenger surveys from over 280 airports worldwide. Zurich Airport received awards in two categories.

At least 1,400 passengers at each participating airport were questioned on a variety of services using a standardised questionnaire. In the Europe category, Zurich Airport was placed second behind Moscow Sheremetyevo. In the category of airports with between 15 and 25 million passengers, Zurich touched down in fifth place worldwide behind Seoul Gimpo, Chongqing, Tampa and Salt Lake City.

“This award is well-earned recognition for all the employees who contribute towards smooth operations and outstanding quality at Zurich Airport,” said Thomas Kern, CEO of Flughafen Zurich AG. He emphasised that such an award was only possible thanks to the positive, close collaboration between the airport operator and its partner companies.

The ASQ awards have been presented by the Montreal-based international confederation of airport operators since 2006. Participation is voluntary and enables airports to compare and improve their quality standards on an ongoing basis.
