OREANDA-NEWS. March 17, 2014. Enterprise Estonia, the state tourism and entrepreneurship support agency, picked Andres Rannamae as its new head.

The previous head Taavi Laur resigned in January and there has been a certain amount of confusion over the leadership of the agency, uudised.err.ee reported.

According to Cinzia Siig, the chairman of the supervisory board of Enterprise Estonia, Rannamae was chosen for his vision for the agency and his work experience in the private and public sector.

Rannamae stressed the need to come up with a sound strategy according to various fields and consider contributions carefully.

“Most of all, we need to focus on the sustainability and competitiveness of enterprises,” Rannamae said in the agency’s press release.

Rannamae has been educated in the United Kingdom, Russia and Sweden and has worked in various companies and institutions in the private and public sector in Estonia and most recently, as a consultant with various projects of the World Bank and the World Health Organization.
