OREANDA-NEWS. Tehran calls on EU countries to fulfill all obligations under the Joint Comprehensive Action Plan (JCPOA). This was stated on Monday at an online press conference by the official representative of the Iranian Foreign Ministry Abbas Mousavi.

"We welcome the launch of INSTEX, but it is better for Europe to fulfill its obligations in all areas", he said. According to Mousavi, "INSTEX is only the first step for European countries to fulfill their promises". On March 31, the German Foreign Ministry informed that France, Germany and the United Kingdom had their first deal with Iran to supply medical supplies using INSTEX, which was created in January 2019 to ensure banking operations under US sanctions.

The United States imposed sanctions on Tehran in the field of oil exports after unilaterally withdrawing on May 8, 2018 from the Joint Comprehensive Action Plan for the Iranian Nuclear Program. According to the Iranian side, the other parties to the agreement, primarily Europeans, do not fully adhere to their obligations in the economic part of the deal, so in its current form it does not make sense.
