OREANDA-NEWSThe Principality of Monaco plans to export agricultural products of the Rostov Region, plenipotentiary ambassador of the Principality of Monaco to Russia Mireille Pettiti told reporters after a meeting with the first deputy governor of the region, Viktor Goncharov.

“Today’s business mission is a very important step for the principality. The Rostov region has enormous economic potential. The signing of the memorandum opens up a large number of new ways for cooperation. One of the promising areas of the partnership may be agriculture, in particular, export of agricultural products to principality", said the ambassador.

In turn, the Deputy Governor of the Rostov Region Viktor Goncharov noted that the development of cooperation with Monaco will provide enterprises of the Rostov Region with access not only to European markets, but also to Africa due to the close economic ties of the principality with African countries. "Today, the mission participants showed interest in IT startups, which are numerous in the Don in various fields. We will use all opportunities to bring the Don business to new foreign markets", Goncharov said.

According to the results of 2018, the foreign trade turnover of the Rostov Region exceeded $ 12 billion, while the region exported goods worth more than $ 9 billion, which is 32.4% more than in 2017. The geography of international partners of the Rostov region includes more than 150 countries. The commodity structure of exports is based on food products, mineral products, engineering products, ferrous and non-ferrous metals, and chemical products.

By 2024, this Russian region plans to increase exports of non-primary non-energy products to $ 8 billion, agricultural exports to $ 7.7 billion, industrial products to $ 3.9 billion, services to $ 320 million, and to double the number of exporters.
