OREANDA-NEWS. President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko said Minsk is ready to undertake the development of the text of a declaration of responsible countries on the non-deployment of medium and shorter-range missiles in Europe. With these words, he spoke on Tuesday at the international expert conference "European Security: move away from the edge".

Belarus has already made a proposal to adopt a multilateral political declaration by the responsible countries on the non-deployment of medium- and shorter-range missiles in Europe.

The President expressed hope that "such a document will receive support and will become a practical contribution to the implementation of the Belarusian initiative to launch an international security dialogue". According to Lukashenko, the degree of distrust and confrontation between Russia and the West has reached the limit.

We can’t but worry about the fact that the degree of distrust and confrontation between Russia and the West has reached the limit. In just a few minutes, Russia and NATO can go from an unintended local conflict to a nuclear war”, he said.
