OREANDA-NEWS Since the beginning of the special operation in Ukraine, 383 crimes have been committed in Germany against persons of Russian origin. 181 crimes were recorded against immigrants from Ukraine, Funke reports, citing German Interior Minister Nancy Feather.

She noted that in most cases, illegal acts ranged from insults and threats to damage to property. However, in a number of cases, acts of violence also took place. The head of the department said that she was going to stop transferring what was happening in Ukraine to the society in Germany. «It's clear to us: we protect every person in our country», Feather said.

Earlier, the Russian Embassy in Berlin reported that it receives hundreds of messages from compatriots about cases of harassment and violation of their rights. Users of social networks also constantly talk about cases of aggression against Russian citizens. The situation is aggravated by the fact that the number of Ukrainian refugees in Germany is only growing.

At the end of March, the Federal Criminal Affairs Agency of Germany announced an increase in crimes against immigrants from the Russian Federation after the start of Russia's special operation in Ukraine. At the same time, German Chancellor Olaf Scholz called discrimination against Russian-speaking German citizens unacceptable.
