Prime Minister of Armenia Stated, That the Russian «Iskander» is inefficient
OREANDA-NEWS. During the war in Nagorno-Karabakh in the fall of 2020, the Russian «Iskander» missile systems in arsenal of Armenia did not explode «or only exploded by 10%». Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan said this on interview with «1in.am» on Tuesday, February 23.
Thus, the head of the government commented on the words of the former President of the country, Serzh Sargsyan, that Armenia could use missile systems on the fourth day of the war in Karabakh. Armenia is the only foreign country, that has received these air defense systems from Russia. It is armed with four such rocket launchers.
Earlier, the former head of the military control service of the Armenian Defense Ministry, Movses Hakobyan, said that in the last days of the war, «Iskander» launches were carried out, there is no other confirmation of this. The Armenian Defense Ministry declined to comment on Pashinyan's statement.
Deputy Chairman of the Russian State Duma Defense Committee Viktor Zavarzin accused Pashinyan of lying. «This is just an absolute lie and is not even subject to any doubt», the MP said. According to him, the Armenian politician decided to emphasize his innocence in the results of the conflict in Nagorno-Karabakh.
