OREANDA-NEWSRussian and Turkish military experts, following the results of negotiations in Ankara, signed a document on the procedure for joint patrolling in Syrian Idlib. This was announced on Friday by the Minister of National Defense of Turkey Hulusi Akar.

"The prepared document was signed by two parties, it entered into force. We will see the first application on March 15 with the start of patrolling the M-4 highway in Idlib", Sabah newspaper quoted him as saying. According to Akar, the upcoming joint patrol of Russia and Turkey "will contribute to the establishment of a permanent ceasefire" in Syrian Idlib.

Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlüt ушavuşoлуlu made a statement on March 10, according to which representatives of his country would patrol the territory north of the M-4 highway, and the Russians south of it.

Turkey intends, together with Russia, to create focal points for monitoring the ceasefire in Syrian Idlib.
