OREANDA-NEWS  The Ukrainian government has decided to withdraw from several other agreements within the framework of the Commonwealth of independent States (CIS).

"The Cabinet has terminated a number of agreements signed within the CIS, as they are incompatible with the obligations of Ukraine in the framework of the Association with the European Union", - said in the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade.

According to him, in particular, Kiev withdrew from the agreements "on interstate exchange of economic information", signed on June 26, 1992, "on exchange of information in the field of foreign economic activity" (September 24, 1993), "on cooperation in the field of foreign economic activity" (May 15, 1992).

As noted in the Ministry of Economic Development, Ukraine has a number of commitments in the field of international trade, in particular, as a member of the world trade organization and in the framework of the Association Agreement with the EU, certain provisions of which are incompatible with obligations under the CIS.

Last week, Ukraine withdrew from the agreement on the development of exhibition and fair activities in the CIS, considering that this document is outdated and does not meet the state of trade and economic relations between the countries.

In May last year, President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko said that Kiev will review all international documents signed within the CIS. Later the representative of the President in the Verkhovna Rada Irina Lutsenko noted that Poroshenko's offer provides preservation for Kiev of favorable agreements on cooperation with the Commonwealth.
