OREANDA-NEWS. According to the results of a survey conducted by the independent, non-governmental polling and sociological research organization Levada Center, 62 % of Russian citizens support limiting the age of the country’s president.

Most of the respondents (35 %) want to ban holding the presidential post after reaching retirement age. 23 % chose a restriction of 70 years, it is a norm for government employees now. 31 % of Russians consider that the age of the head of state should not be limited.

The respondents were also asked is it necessary to have a change of power to improve the lives of ordinary people, or stability and a narrow circle of politicians are preferable. 50 % favored a change of power, 37 % opposed it.
