OREANDA-NEWS. At an extraordinary meeting, the Armenian government decided to extend for a month the state of emergency in the country imposed due to the coronavirus pandemic.

The regime is extended for the third time. It will be valid until 17:00, July 13. The restrictions introduced by the pandemic remain to be in force.

The state of emergency was initially declared in Armenia on March 16. On April 13, the government extended it until May 14, and then until June 13. At the same time, restrictions on free movement and some types of economic activity introduced since March 24 were lifted on May 4. From May 18, work of public transport, gyms, kindergartens and catering facilities was resumed.

In early July, it became known that the Prime Minister of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan and members of his family were infected with SARS-CoV-2. The head of the government continued to work from home.

According to the latest data from the Johns Hopkins University, more than 14.6 thousand cases of coronavirus infections have been detected in Armenia. 258 people died.
