OREANDA-NEWS. On May 5, a working meeting between the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation, Sergey Lavrov, and Minister of Foreign Affairs Marat Tazhin of the Republic of Kazakhstan took place in Moscow.

During the talks the sides expressed satisfaction with the dynamic, onward development of friendly Russian-Kazakhstan relations and with the active collaboration of the two countries on the international scene.

Lavrov and Tazhin discussed key issues in bilateral cooperation from the vantage point of the realization of the agreements reached at the highest level, as well as in the context of a planned state visit by President-elect of the Russian Federation Dmitry Medvedev to Kazakhstan.

A thorough exchange of views took place on the enhancement of the effectiveness of the activities of the Commonwealth of Independent States and the further strengthening of the Collective Security Treaty Organization, the Eurasian Economic Community and the Shanghai Cooperation Organization.
