OREANDA-NEWS. Sergey Lavrov, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation, on June 2 received Dmitry Titov, UN Assistant Secretary General, who is on a working visit to Moscow. Titov also had consultations with Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Alexander Yakovenko on the same day.

Dmitry Titov on July 27, 2007 was appointed the head of the Office of Rule of Law and Security Institutions of the Department of Peacekeeping Operations of the UN Secretariat in the rank of Assistant Secretary General.

In the course of the meetings topical issues related to Russia’s participation in UN peacekeeping were examined and prospects for increasing the contribution of our country to international efforts in this sector were discussed.
