OREANDA-NEWS. June 9, 2008. The heads of state discussed further enhancing military-technical cooperation.

The two state leaders gave a positive assessment to their trade and economic cooperation, noted the successful cooperation in implementing joint projects, in particular in the construction of Sangtuda hydroelectric power plant. Emomali Rahmon told Dmitry Medvedev in detail about plans for further developing transport infrastructure in Tajikistan.

They also touched on cooperation in the cultural and educational spheres. The President of Tajikistan expressed interest in expanding the activities of branches of Russian universities in Tajikistan.

At the invitation of Emomali Rahmon Dmitry Medvedev will make an official visit to Tajikistan in late August during SCO (Shanghai Cooperation Organisation) summit.
