OREANDA-NEWS. June 18, 2008. President Valdas Adamkus welcomed the French decision to rejoin the military command of NATO.

“It is a long awaited decision that will further strengthen the family of Euro-Atlantic nations. Today Europe and the world needs a dynamic and effective trans-Atlantic security organization,” Mr. Adamkus underlined.

According to Valdas Adamkus, Lithuania and France have always maintained close political and defense ties. “The French fighters have already policed the air space over the Baltic States. Now that France has rejoined NATO structures, we expect to further expand our military cooperation,” Mr. Adamkus said.
