OREANDA-NEWS. June 26, 2008. Poland is interested in cooperation with Ukraine in development of nuclear power engineering and industry, in particular, in investment into construction of new generating capacities and the infrastructure development, Polish Premier's Adviser Wojciech Zajaczkowski stated during a meeting with NNPC EnerhoAtom Yuriy Nedashkovskyi.

According to him, due to enhancement of environmental problems and growth in the volumes of electric energy consumption, Poland intends to review its nuclear program that was blocked in the early 90-ies.

Presently, the largest interest in cooperation with Ukrainian nuclear power industry is shown by such companies as the Enea and the PGE (Polska Grupa Energetyczna).

In his turn, Nedashkovskyi informed Zajaczkowski about plans for development of the nuclear-industrial complex of Ukraine in compliance with the energy strategy till 2030, in particular, about the process of implementation of the project on completion of constructing the 3rd and the 4th power generating complexes at the Khmelnytskyi NPP.

"We are open for a dialogue and are interested in further cooperation", he said and proposed to continue discussion both at the level of the interested companies and at the level of the Ukrainian-Polish Intergovernmental Commission.
