OREANDA-NEWS. December 5, 2008. President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov received the top managers of Lebanese CCC (Consolidated Contractors Company) Samer Saeed Khouri, Vice President, a member of the Board and Hani Akkawi, Vice President for the CIS, Iraq and Construction and Design.

Thanking the Turkmen leader for the opportunity of a personal meeting the guests informed of the company’s intense interest in co-operation with Turkmenistan where the grandiose reform programmes aimed at establishing the social and industrial infrastructure and the large-scale urban development projects were implemented. In this regard Mr. Samer Saeed Khouri expressed sincere gratitude to the Turkmen leader for the confidence granted to the company – to collaborate in implementing the project on construction of the Olympic Village in Ashgabat. The Lebanese businessmen said that the company established about a half a century ago and ranking among the world’s leaders stood ready to offer its expertise, advanced technologies and whole spectrum of services to Turkmen partners.

Greeting the top managers of the well-known company the Turkmen leader emphasized that Turkmenistan was interested in having such dependable, well-experienced partners with the profound potential operated on the very promising Turkmen market. Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov invited the Consolidated Contractors Company to collaborate in implementing the ongoing large-scale programmes on social and economic development including development of the regions and establishment of the industrial, transport and communication infrastructure and the project on creation of the Avaza national tourism zone on the Caspian Sea coast. The Lebanese businessmen showed keen interest in the President’s proposals and reaffirmed the company’s willingness to establish long-term business contacts with Turkmenistan.

The guests informed the President of Turkmenistan of the progress of the Olympic Village Project. The businessmen expressed the willingness to construct the centre for training Turkmen specialists who would be engaged in future construction projects implemented by the Lebanese company in Turkmenistan.

Emphasizing that the major requirements set by Turkmenistan to its partners was the high quality of construction work and observance of the period of construction the Turkmen leader put forward the proposals related to the Olympic Village Project. In particular, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov said that the design of all building constructed in Turkmenistan should embody the latest achievements of world architecture and best national architectural traditions.

Assuring that the Turkmen leader’s proposals would be taken into consideration the Lebanese guests thanked Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov for the confidence granted to the company and the opportunity to discuss the issues of co-operation in the personal meeting.
