OREANDA-NEWS. January 28, 2009. The OSCE welcomes the creation of the Social-Advisory Board at the President’s Administration, Head of the OSCE Office in Minsk Hans Jochen Schmidt told reporters on January 28.

The OSCE welcomes this initiative as it helps establish the exchange of opinions between the authorities and the society, Hans Jochen Schmidt noted. “We will support this initiative,” he added.

The Social-Advisory Board has been set up at the Administration of the President of Belarus. Head of the Administration of the President Vladimir Makei will be in charge of the board consisting of members of NGOs, political parties, other public and political organisations of Belarus. The Social-Advisory Board will focus on topical issues related to the development of the state and society. It will be responsible for the elaboration of proposals to involve the Republic of Belarus in the international processes and to contribute to the social, economic and political development of the country.
