OREANDA-NEWS. On 2 February a telephone conversation was held between Foreign Minister of Russia Sergey V. Lavrov and US Secretary of State Hillary R. Clinton on the initiative of the US side.

The conversation focused on mutual interest in forming a positive agenda for our relations after a new administration came to power in the United States. Particular emphasis was laid on the importance of strengthening interaction both bilaterally, including issues relating to the strategic dialogue and economic cooperation, and on topical international problems, including the Afghanistan settlement.

The Ministers agreed to remain in close contact on all the international and bilateral questions of interest to our countries.
