OREANDA-NEWS. February 24, 2009. The heads of state exchanged views on a number of practical aspects concerning Russian-Azerbaijani relations. Both sides expressed their satisfaction with the progressive development of their relations in a spirit of partnership and mutual understanding. A striking example of the multifaceted nature of the two countries' bilateral cooperation will be visible at the forthcoming opening of the Baku branch of Moscow State University. A widely representative delegation headed by the Chief of Staff of the Presidential Executive Office of the Russian Federation will come to Azerbaijan to participate in this important event.

During the meeting Dmitry Medvedev informed Ilham Aliev of the main outcomes of CSTO and EurAsEC summits that were recently held in Moscow and designed to further develop integration processes in the CIS.

The heads of state also discussed the current situation surrounding Nagorno-Karabakh.
