OREANDA-NEWS  On 04 March was announced, that in the course of his three-day visit to Holland the First Vice Prime Minister of Ukraine Olexandr Turchynov met with Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Finance of the Kingdom of Netherlands Wouter Jacob Bos.

During the meeting the counterparts have considered issues of growing trade-economic cooperation in transport, agricultural and energy areas. “Despite the world financial crisis last year’s trade turnover between our states had grown almost twofold,” the First Vice Premier underlined. In his turn, Wouter Bos expressed his assurance that the trade turnover between the countries will raise the current year also, “as there are all necessary prerequisites for that,” he stressed.

The interlocutors positively evaluated the state of implementation of the Program of joint actions between the governments of Ukraine and the Netherlands for 2007-2009 and considered the prospects of concluding a new respective document.

The questions of cooperation in energy area and possibilities of participation of Dutch capital in modernization of Ukrainian gas transport system were among crucial points. “We are keen on improvement of reliability of the present system of gas transit to the European states and elaboration of alternative ways of energy supplies,” the First Vice Prime Minister emphasized. At the same time, he accentuated on the significance of projects that would facilitate preserving of energy safety of Ukraine and the European state.
