OREANDA-NEWS. March 30, 2009. Yulia Tymoshenko, the Prime Minister of Ukraine, is assured the bail-out package of draft laws which is to be considered by the Parliament tomorrow will improve the pension system of Ukraine.

The Head of Government informed in the course of her meeting with ambassadors of the G7, the Head of the delegation of the EC Commission to Ukraine J.M Pinto Teixeira, the Head of IMF mission to Ukraine Max Allier, Director of the World Bank for Ukraine, Belarus and Moldova Martin Raiser and the Director of the EBRD to Ukraine Andre Kuusvek.

Yulia Tymoshenko accentuated the mentioned draft laws will not increase the pension age and don’t deprive of pensions the working pensioners.

“On the basis of these draft laws the pension system will become fairer, it gives an opportunity for everybody counting on the state provision of pensions, to be on equal grounds,” the Premier stressed.

Yulia Tymoshenko noted, the draft laws envisage increase of pensions for the women through the calculation of salary coefficient with a possibility to take reduced salary in the period of maternity leave.

According to Yulia Tymoshenko, improved will be also the procedure of calculation of actuarial pension dues. So, for the economy subjects working on a simplified taxation system a right is rendered to define the rate of pension themselves. “They will have a possibility to influence their pension with their actuarial dues: the higher is their actuarial pension due, the higher their pension will be,” Yulia Tymoshenko explained.

Also, as the Prime Minister elucidated, in the bail-out package of draft laws to be considered by the Parliament tomorrow the two draft bills are included with regards to increase of excise dues for tobacco and alcohol goods as well as a draft bill on making changes into the State Budget, aimed at balancing the financial plan of Naftogaz of Ukraine NJSC.

“These draft laws prove possible in this period of recess to balance the budget of the Pension Fund, balance the revenues and expenses of the State Budget and to establish certain financial order into profits and expenses of Naftogaz of Ukraine company. All this complex will make the financial system of Ukraine stronger,” Yulia Tymoshenko urged.
