OREANDA-NEWS. April 8, 2009. President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and RF President Dmitriy Medvedev had a telephone conversation.

Cordially greeting each other the leaders of the friendly countries expressed satisfaction at the dynamics of the intergovernmental dialogue, which was filled with a new content during the recent top-level talks in Moscow.

In this regard Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov thanked Dmitriy Medvedev for the cordial and heartfelt welcome extended to the leader and government delegation of Turkmenistan in Russia.

Focusing on significance of the agreements reached during the state visit of the President of Turkmenistan to the Russian Federation and aimed at substantially expanding the spectrum of mutually advantageous partnership the sides discussed the progress in implementing these agreements. The sides put emphasis on the need for regular bilateral consultation and adjusted the schedule of business contacts.

Noting that humanitarian cooperation played an important role in fostering fruitful collaboration the Presidents expressed the best wishes to participants and organizers of the Days of Culture of the Russian Federation in Turkmenistan.

During the conversation the Russian leader informed the President of Turkmenistan of the results of the G20 Leaders Summit in London.

Upon concluding the conversation Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov invited Dmitriy Medvedev to pay a visit to Turkmenistan at any convenient time. The invitation was accepted with gratitude. The dates of the visit would be adjusted through the diplomatic channels.

In conclusion the sides exchanged the wishes of good health and success and peace, happiness and welfare to the peoples of Turkmenistan and Russia.
