OREANDA-NEWS. April 27, 2009. Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation Sergey Lavrov paid a working visit to the Republic of Korea from April 24-25, during which he held talks with Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade Yu Myung-hwan. There was also a meeting with ROK President Lee Myung-bak.

The heads of the foreign affairs agencies of the two countries exchanged views on the situation in the region that has evolved after the DPRK rocket launch, and spoke for additional efforts for resumption of the Six-Party Talks process and the fulfillment by all its participants of the obligations assumed. Prospects for the development of Russian-South Korean relations, including a schedule of upcoming exchanges and contacts were also discussed.

The visit reaffirmed the readiness of the sides to fill with real content the strategic partnership relations established in line with the accords at the highest level.
