OREANDA-NEWS. June 01, 2009.  In the framework of a visit of Ukrainian military delegation to the Republic of Poland Warsaw hosted a meeting of Minister of Defence of Ukraine Yurii Yekhanurov and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Poland Radoslaw Sikorski.

In the course of meeting the parties agreed on activation of military-technical cooperation between the two states.

“There exist significant perspectives for Ukraine and Poland to develop cooperation in military-technical sphere,” Radoslaw Sikorski stressed and added the Polish party had received from Ukraine concrete propositions concerning the forms and lines of cooperation today and special expert groups had to be set up to tackle them.

Speaking about definite projects the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Poland noted an issue of speeding up realization of modernization of armoured troop carriers on enterprises of Ukrainian military-industrial complex jointly with Poland and Hungary with further shipment to Iraq had emerged today.

“Despite Ukraine hasn’t yet received MAP of NATO Poland furthers active support of Euro-Atlantic prospects of Ukraine, in particular in the framework of Ukraine-NATO commission work,” Radoslaw Sikorski summed up results of the negotiations.
