OREANDA-NEWS. June 29, 2009. The talks took place in the Azerbaijani President’s out-of-town residence on the banks of the Caspian Sea.

The two Presidents first spoke one-on-one and were then joined by their respective delegations.

Following their talks, Mr Medvedev and Mr Aliyev signed the Joint Declaration on the Caspian Sea and the Joint Declaration on Basic Principles for Completion of Demarcation of the State Border and Distribution of the Samur River’s Water Resources between the Russian Federation and Azerbaijan.

The two Presidents also witnessed the signature of other agreements. In particular, Gazprom and the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR) signed an agreement on basic conditions of contracts for the purchase and sale of Azerbaijani natural gas.

Following the talks, Mr Medvedev and Mr Aliyev made press statements and answered questions from journalists.
