OREANDA-NEWS. August 27, 2009. A telephone conversation took place on August 27 between Sergey Lavrov, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation, and Marat Tazhin, the head of the foreign affairs agency of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

The sides discussed the current state of, and prospects for integrative processes in the post-Soviet space, paying special attention to cooperation within the framework of EurAsEC and to problems in the creation of the Belarus-Kazakhstan-Russia Customs Union. During the conversation the question of preparing for the upcoming Sixth Russia-Kazakhstan Interregional Cooperation Forum involving Heads of State in Orenburg on September 11, 2009, was broached. Also, an exchange of views on Caspian problems took place.
