OREANDA-NEWS. December 3, 2009. A conversation between Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation Sergey Lavrov and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Serbia Vuk Jeremic took place in Athens on the sidelines of the OSCE Ministerial Council meeting. 

There was accentuated the smooth implementation of the agreements reached during the official visit to Belgrade of Russian President Dmitry Medvedev on October 20 this year, and both sides expressed their readiness to develop further the strategic partnership between Russia and Serbia and to carry out key cooperation projects.

The ministers compared their assessments with respect to the settlement of the Kosovo problem in the context of the oral hearings that have begun in the International Court of Justice on whether the unilaterally proclaimed independence of Kosovo conforms to international law. They also exchanged views on issues related to the current situation in the Balkans, including Bosnia and Herzegovina.
