OREANDA-NEWS. January 26, 2010. President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov highly praised the technological capabilities of the Belarusian industry during his visits to the Minsk Automobile Plant (MAZ trademark), the Minsk Wheel Tractor Plant and the Minsk Tractor Works (MTZ trademark), Vice Premier of Belarus Viktor Burya told reporters in Minsk on 26 January.

Turkmenistan is expected to purchase around 1.500 MAZ trucks. “Getting familiar with the Belarusian machinery, the President of Turkmenistan gave the relevant instructions to members of his delegation. They should determine the concrete nomenclature of the goods which are to be purchased,” Viktor Burya said.

According to Viktor Burya, it is necessary to intensify the work of the intergovernmental commission to determine the projects which are to be developed by specialists of the two countries. It concerns the projects on exploration of the potash mining complex in Garlyk and the Karabil potash deposit in the Lebap region of Turkmenistan. Moreover, the sides also discussed the construction of a railway and a road bridge across the Amu-Darya River by Belarusian specialists.

According to Viktor Burya, “we have studied Turkmenistan rather well”. “It is a dynamically developing Asian country. It has a political will and financial resources to fulfill the great ambitions aimed at improving people’s life,” the official underscored.
