OREANDA-NEWS. January 28, 2010. The two presidents had a detailed discussion regarding current issues in Russian-American relations, including the prospects for completing work on the new strategic offensive arms treaty in the near future.

The discussion was held in the constructive and friendly manner that has become typical for top-level contacts between the two parties.

The Presidents of Russia and the United States expressed satisfaction with the significant progress achieved during the recent round of talks in Moscow in preparations to sign a new START treaty. The leaders agreed to give their delegations instructions to conclude technical revisions of the document in the near future.

In addition, Mr Medvedev and Mr Obama briefly discussed issues related to cooperation in current international issues.
