OREANDA-NEWS. March 19, 2010. President Ilham Aliyev received a delegation led by Foreign Minister of Romania, Teodor Baconschi.

Stating that strong partnership relations and active diplomatic ties exist on all levels between Azerbaijan and Romania, President Ilham Aliyev also added that the relations between the Presidents of the two states play a significant role in development of bilateral relations. Having expressed confidence that the visit of Teodor Baconschi to Azerbaijan would be a significant step toward further development of bilateral ties, the President mentioned that the visit was also of importance for discussions of Azerbaijan-EU cooperation and the regional situation.

President Ilham Aliyev expressed hope in further development of friendship and partnership relations between the two states.
Foreign Minister of Rmoania, Teodor Baconschi conveyed Romanian President Traian Basescu’s greetings to the President, and mentioned that Romanian President was keen to further develop bilateral relations. Recalling the visit of Azerbaijan President Ilham Aliyev to Romania in 2009, the Minister stated that the personal relations between the two presidents were a crucial factor for development of strategic partnership ties.  
The President expressed gratitude for President Traian Basescu’s greetings, and asked the Minister to extend his greetings to the Romanian President as well.
